Dear All,

The performance of PCS 7 V7.1 with Windows XP Pro SP3, i.e, the compile time be can optimized with Solid State Drive (SSD)?

The compile time of one "AS" of multiproject, happens between 3 and 4 hours.

BRs,

Marinho

Hi,

I can imagin that you can increase the speed of the compilation with a SSD and enough RAM but I can't promise.
But you won't be able to make it in 5 minutes, when it now need 3 hours.

It seems to be a huge program.. this takes a while.

This seem like a long compile time for an AS, even for a large one. Are there any warnings in your compile/module driver logs? Do you have certain software packages Safety Matrix, PDM, F-System...etc?

I would recommend maxing RAM for your specific version of Windows. Do smaller AS projects take long times too? I would consider creating a dummy project through the multiproject wizard adding some CFCs and see how long a very small program with standard blocks takes.

From Russian forum about increasing compilation speed with AHCI driver.
Windows XP use by default old IDE driver - you can install
AHCI driver
