Is it possible to use two fast counters from one input? So that one can be used for moving to one side and other counter to second side? Or it is needed to connect only one fast input with one counter to have fast counter? To put in another way: are fast counters binded to input or also to logic in PLC so only three can be used? I'm using 0BA7.

Yes.
You can use many counters on 1 input.
On the LOGO! 0BA6 about 100, ore even more

I know that I can use, but my question is: every counter connected to one fast input will be counted with max 5khz no matter how many of them will be connected? Or maybe only first one can be fast counter and rest will be slow counters (counted by logic)?

GREAT! Thanks for Your answer. This means I can control this big (8 meters) three axis saw for granite using encoders with Logo!

Thanks again!

Note that de Low Voltage LOGO! serie 0BA6 has 4 high speed inputs.
Ist enough for counting 3 axis.

I'm using 0BA7 24V and it also has 4 fast inputs. I'm using three of them, one for every axis.

Hi MaciejP,

please remember the following facts about the high speed puls inputs:

a) The "cnt"  pin of the (or a) counter must be direct connected with an input pin - If not, then the maximum rate is only 0.5 * fz (with fz = LOGO! cyclic frequency)
b) The output pin to the counter gets only new states at one time every LOGO!- cycle
c) A pointer to the counter actual value (inside an analog block) gets only a new value at one time every LOGO!- cycle

That means, that the using of high speed input pulses is verry difficult and for the most applications not good usable - because the LOGO!-cycle frequency is to low, sorry!

Best regards
Betel
