Hello guys, I have big a problem with my PLC and I need your help.
Few days ago I got my CPU 1214C DC/DC/DC. I downloaded program into it and after that I saw a warning in online diagnostic that was telling me that my online and offline configurations aren't the same. Soon I realized that my PLC had newer firmware version (v.3.0) from one I ordered (v.2.2). But inspite of that my PLC was working normaly and I could establish online connection anytime. Few hours later PLC went into error (error LED shines constantly red) and changed from RUN to STOP. Also MAINT LED started flashing orange. From that point I can't download anything to PLC or even go online. I tried to ping IP address of my PLC and I don't get anything. I tried to see accessible devices and I don't get anything. I tried using online access folder of my network card and update accessible devices and still I couldn't find anything in network. I even tried to give PLC different IP address by entering the MAC address and the connection couldn't be established. I'm preety sure that this is all because of older firmware version downloaded into PLC. I upgraded my Step 7 Professional to version V11 SP2 Update 3 and changed CPU to v.3.0 in hardware configuration and repeated all the steps above and I could't fix the problem.
After all of that, I tried to reset PLC to factory settings using empty Siemens MMC card but still nothing, the LEDs didn't change their state. Is there any possibility to upgrade firmware version to v.3.0 via MMC card? I was searching to download the new firmware but I could't find it on Siemens web page. Please help, I don't know what to do anymore cry

I cannot establish online connection to PLC so I must reset it using MMC. I deleted S7_JOB file and FWUPDATE.S7S folder from MMC leaving it empty (I didn't deleted any hidden files) and put it into PLC. After that I switched off and then turned on the PLC, but my MAIN LED continued flashing orange like before. I waited for several minutes, took out the card and rebooted the PLC but the problem remained. RUN/STOP is constantly shining orange, ERROR is constantly shining red and MAINT is flashing orange.
After that, I also tried to go into properties of MMC in TIA Portal and in Card Characteristics for Card type I put "Transfer". By doing that S7_JOB file was created on MMC and also one folder, I think it had the same name as the file. I repeated the procedure as with the empty card but didn't get any result sad Am I doing something wrong?

Hello,

I think your PLC needs firmware file, since V3.0 is not available for download, you can try Firmware update V2.2

Please follow the directions given in the link.

If no result i suggest --> Support Request

Select a different PLC in the hardware configuration.  Select the 1214 dc/dc/dc with firmware that matches your device.  It is probably still 2.2 if that is how it arrived.  These plc devices have some programming in the firmware update system that prevents it from loading the wrong firmware.

You can probably use the online / diagnostics (near bottom of the project tree) to get online with that plc and issue a factory reset.  Then you should be able to set the ip address and load your project.

It should save you some grief, but if that fails, you can use the s7-1200 tool to set the ip address without the portal.  Look in the search box for "set ip address on s7-1200 without tia portal"
