Read some values from PAC3100 with et200s

Hi,

I have task to read some values from PAC3100 with et200s. But i don't have a clue how it should be done. Can you maybe describe me what should i do. I had assignment to create my own PID regulator, so i could manage water level. This part is finished. But now i have part for reading energy consumption. In this part i have lack of knowlege. Can you maybe help me. It is my master degree work.

Hello Marko;
How familiar are you with Modbus RTU? The Sentron PAC 3100 has a RS-485 interface dedicated to Modbus RTU exchanges, so best we start with that clarification. For your general information (or some quick refreshment) here is an excellent post from our forum friend smiffy explaining the basics of Modbus RTU:

Also, what level of experience do you have with Siemens programming and PLCs? Knowing this will help us determine how we can help you best.

Just for starters, you will need a serial communication module for your ET 200S CPU; this would be a 1SI module; the model shown here is setup for Modbus RTU, using RS-485:

Hi,

I already have listed what you sent to me. Main problem is how to comunicate with PAC3100. I am using TIA, and ET200s as i mentioned, and all examples and explanations are made either in step7, or for S7-1200. So with my present knowledge i can't use those examples since i don't know how.
