It seems something very stupid and easy, but I cannot manage.
I have PC-access SP3.
Started, configured PC/PG (address=0), new PLC (address=2)
create a new item,
move the item to the TEST client and press "Start Test Client", I am getting:"an error has occurred".

Strange is that on another PC it works. Even if nothing is connected to the PC, when I start the test, the item under test changes "date and time" (instead of remaining 02:00:00:000, like the other), obviously "quality: poor" (nothing connected).
WHY!!

Can someone help me?

Thanks a lot in advance,
Iacopo

Hello,

Could be we missed this one, all users (including experts) are here to give answers for free in their own time and sometimes it happens that a question is not answered.
Could also be tha we don't know the answer.

Explain your problem with more details and if possible some screenshots and i'm sure you get some answers.

Regards,

Marcjan

Me three.  I have the same problem and I can't get a working solution.
Here is my scenario:
I have PC Access 1.03.35.  I installed it.
I created a portal V11 SP2 project with DB1 non-symbolic data block using an S7-1200.
Only has 2 ints
I picked the TCP/IP - my netork card for the PG/PC interface of PC access.
picked the address 192.168.100.100
TSAP local = 10.00 (for PC Access)
TSAP Remote = 3.01 (for S7-1200)
Created new item: Tried VW0 and MW0
Click item and arrow to populate the test client
Start Client
Result -- "an error has occurred"
I can ping the 1200
Called for help.  They told me there is an SP5 and SP6 upgrade.
SP6 would not work becuase it said I still had old software even though I had deleted the old version.
Reinstalled old PC access and then did upgrade to SP5
Same error
Called tech support and was given full new version of SP6.  Uninstalled old PC Access
Tried to install New SP6. failed during "comparison test"
Hope someone can help.

I have PC-Access SP3 running in a PC
I want to use another PC with the same configuration
I lnstalled PC-Access SP5 in the other PC and when I want to run the software... appears  a dialog box that says "An error has occurred" (in Spanish) and anything else, it doesn't give me any options but OK, no "Details" option.

Hello, and have the same problem
When I press the "test client status" error appears "an error has occured"

Attach a picture of this error!

Configuration details:
computer ip:      10.0.0.100 Subnet Mask 255.0.0.0
first plc ip:         10.0.0.101
Local TSAP       10.00
remote              10.00
Second plc ip:   10.0.0.102
Local TSAP       10.00
remote               10.00

I am sure these settings are GOOD. Why the error? What we did wrong?

think I have the solution.
There is a message at the very beginning saying something like that:
"Remember to save before using a new configuration"
Attached the message in italian.
So save your project name.pca and try again.
This solved for me, shame on Siemens: that is not dummies proof.

hello,
I noticed that this problem occurs when both PLCs are in the same LAN
Ok, I understand how it works to save the project, but the real problem remains.
I noticed that when timeout = 10 seconds (PG PC interface properties) and disconnect firts PLC second PLC (witch
is physically in LAN) is not read.

After I changed timeout = 1 sec (PG PC interface properties) and disconnect first PLC, PLC remained (second) connected to LAN is getting data at about 6-7 seconds. (So it goes, but does not go to second as when it goes ok)
.

The question remains open, how do you read many PLC using PCACCESS  SP6 when a PLC not communicate, the rest of the chain PLCs to communicate at 1 second.

Hello, still no answer to my problem

I thing i have a soluttion!

Do you think
installing a virtual machine could solve this problem?

Windows 7 installed to have a project that accesses first PLC, and another project on virtual machine that accesses the second PLC via VPN.  In this way network card will work well?

Please help me!
