Dear all,

I  must install wincc server 6.2, I have the license of server but not the cd of that, but i have the wincc 6.2 RC which is used by engineering station.

So i used the same cd but only installed RT  option of it on my server, and then transfered the server license to  it.  now i have some problems  and i want to make sure  is this kind of installation can cause a problem or I must look for the cause in somewhere else?

So in another word:  can I  install wincc server from an wincc cd for engineering station which containes both RC and RT, and deselect the RC option when installing?

Best Regards

Hello A.control,

I agree with Phantom75.

So what problems do you have after installation?

Please let me know, whether I can help you.

Best regards

 Dear Bizur,

Thank you very much.

Well the problem is:  when  I install wincc RT on server and transfer project from engineering laptop to the server, the project is ported compeletly, but the icon of *.mcp  file is not like the wincc icon it is apprears like an unknown file format.

I thought maybe after a restart it is shown correctly, so I set the project in autostart and then restarted the server computer, but it didn't apear correctly.

I had no other way, I installed wincc compeletly, it means now I have both RC and RT on server, now the project comes up correctly and the icon of  *.mcp  file is  look like wincc.

As you know, normally there musn't be  any configuration option on server, besides I don't have any extra RC license to permenantly transfer to server. In other words I cannot go on working with RC installed on my server, I have to understand the problem and Uninstall the RC from server.

Any help or idea is appreciated in advance

Best Regards

Hello A.control,

this is really a strange behaviour.
Do you have just this one station?
Does it happen to all your projects?

Please let me know
