I have several Micromaster 420 Drives that i am trying to communicate with using Starter Software. When i try to access using accesible nodes or even try to connect directly to the micromaster profibus module the software does not detect anything connected to it. This problem started after my laptop was reloaded and the Starter sofware upgraded.I have tried to reload previous versions of Starter but with no luck.Any ideas would be very helpful.
Hi, I take it when you say try to access using accessible nodes, you mean local (USS) OR even try to connect via Profibus.
I you cannot connect locally, then double check baud rates, firmware version, and check over the cable and the faceplate of the interface (The small pins/connectors can become damaged)
If you cannot connect via Profibus anymore, and your laptop has been "reloaded" (Does this mean Operating System) did you have Drives-ES installed before? Does your laptop have a serial port, or are you using USB - is the driver still installed for this interface?
The version of Starter is irrelevant (Obviously make sure the correct SSP is installed if necessary), however, I think most core versions of Starter cover all firmware versions of the current Micromaster family.
Hopefully this gives you something to think of.

Graeme
