Hy guys, between a dc motor+drive and an ac motor+drive, which one has better power factor? Which has more energy savings? Has anyone approximate figures that show the power consumption difference between the two. Thank you

The power factor of the AC drive is about 0.95(if the input rectifier of the drive is B6 with diodes) and does not vary with the load. The PF of the DC drive varies with the output voltage(with the firing angle).
However, the losses are bigger in the AC drive because of the switching frequency of the IGBTs.
