I have a simple question, on which I have doubt.
Is it possible to implement astronomical clock in the S7-1200 (I have CPU1214)?
Also when CPU looses power and when power comes back does it know time-of-day?

The FW2.2 devices give you a few days of time-of-day backup. The FW3.0 devices give more time with an optional battery signal module that can give reportedly something like a year of time-of-day backup.
If you have the math needed to calculate astronomical clock for your application, the plc can do the math quite well. Maybe the OSCAT SCL library has what you need in the SUN_xxx.SCL time/date functions.
