Batch Error & WinCC Alarms

Hi,

We have a PCS7 / Simatic Batch system V7.1. We are experiencing unusual behaviour with our recipes whereby the recipes go into error with a lightning strike over the state that is in error. This is usually preceded by the following events in the WinCC jounal list:
'Batch error'
'phase no longer allocated'
On clicking 'resume' on the state that was no longer allocated, the recipe runs away again with any problems.

This is happening randomly without any obvious reason.

Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Hi winarko,

We are still working with Siemens on this would you believe. The root cause is directly related to manual intervention of the automated Batch Process – its just that the software is not handling the manual intervention correctly. They are working on releasing a Patch Fix for the issue I believe but it is taking time. They are waiting on further logs from us before they can close it out but we cannot recreate the issue that often as production will not let us. Simple solution is do not manually intervene any automated phases etc.

Hi Farlo,
Do you mean there is an Equipment Module (EM) in that Unit which is still in Manual Mode,even Batch haven't used that EM yet?
For ex: I have Unit MX3230 consist of 4 EM (RUP), when I run it one of them still in Manual and that will cause a lightning symbol for other EM

Is it a bug that need a patch to be resolved?

Not quite. Under normal operation all EMs are in automatic mode. If the operator or supervisor puts an EM into manual mode while the batch is running, then in some instances this error orrurs. It does not happen every time - it depends on what the process is doing at the time - we have not been able to narrow it down fully yet.

We have been told that a patch will be issued when they are confident of re-creating the issue. When this will be I do not know.
