(0)  Dear Sir, I need a little help for suggesting the correct product to my client on one of the island near Dubai. They have very small setup for Diesel Storage Tanks. These tanks are Cylindrical in shape made up of Steel, installed horizontally. Client wants to know the volume of tank at different levels, which is verywell possible with Multiranger200 but I think for oil applications it is not recommended to use USLevel. Whereas I have a feeling that Radar will work perfectly fine. Another reason for considering Radar is surrounding environment is little explosive. As per the environment concern client is also in doubt so I suggested to use Radar Level Measurement along with Volume calculation in Siemens PLC S7-1200. Now, I am in doubt which one I should suggestProbe LR/LR200? If there is possibility to use Multiranger200 then also please let me know. Toppie Joined 6/15/2009 Last visit: 4/3/2013 Posts: 73 Rating:  (3)	(0)  Hello Davinder.   Your local Siemens office is a good place to start.  We have PI people in Dubai office that know the product.   The truth be known, ultrasonics works pretty well on diesel because it has pretty constant vapour and is not so volatile.  So, you could use a ProbeLU or a Multi 100/200.  The ProbeLU can be ordered with Profibus PA and would be the most cost effective.   My first choice for your application, though, would be a high frequency radar sich as the LR250.  The LR200 or ProbeLR is low frequency (6GHz) and it should not be used with low dK liquids since it penetrates into the liquid.  The LR250 (26GHz) can be mounted from the top and does not require a stilling well, in fact it will work better without one.  If the application is less than 10 m, please check out the LR250PVDF.
