Dear friends

I would like some piece of advise for LR200 radar sensor 7ML5430-1AC10.

Is it suitable to measure level in a Diesel Vessel?

Is it necessary to use still pipe to measure level of diesel? Is its dielectric constant too low?

Thanks!

I hope someone can answer this quick!

Hi,
The LR200 needs stillpipe, however the dk of Diesel is 4.0 whilst LR200 is required low dielectric liquid dk<3.0

You try to think about LR400 !

Hello Lenin

You have asked this question in our Service and Support site, you have sent e-mails to our technical writers and now you have hi-jacked another thread to ask the same question again.
If you use a forum, please do not hi-jack another thread.

The answer is still the same-
Diesel may have a smell but it is not very volatile so the vapours are low and very constant over a temperature range.  This means it can even be measured with ultrasonics.  The Probe LU for your 510 cm application would do the job.  The preferred isntrument would be the LR250 PVDF.
The LR200 will work but due to the low dK of diesel you will not see the bottom 30 to 40 cm of material.  You will see the bottom of the tank, below the bottom of the tank for reasons I have already explained in our service and support site.
The LR400 is the same frequency as the LR250 and it would work but it's like bringing an elephant gun to a pheasant hunt.  It's too expensive and too powerful.

And yes, if measuring a low dK liquid with low frequency radar like the ProbeLR, a still pipe is needed.

Regards
