SIMATIC TDC, FM458, T400

TDC with thrid party FOC communication.

Hello Experts,

Can you clarify following doubts:

1) Fastest scan/execution time for TDC processors. Can TDC configure to have a cyclic interupt for 65 MicroSeconds (Very few instruction are required to execute under this cycle)?

2) Does TDC has any CP or H/W which can talk to Fiber Optic base device? What is that options?

Hello Dutta,
the minimal task time is 100µs.

TDC can use a "Global Data Memory" this is connected with a fiber optic to the TDC racks. But the protocoll is not published. The only non TDC component I know is ibaPDA.

1) Can TDC has any i/o based interrupt which can give less then 100micro sencond cycle?

2) Can I develop code to use this FOC module for third party communication? Is any communication block like send/receive available in TDC library?

Hello DUTTA!
  1. As far as I know you can trigger a alarmtask by a digital input. Please note this inputs can have up to 50µs delay. I have no idea if ther will be a jitter. An I expect you can use not more than 10 or 15 blocks.
  2. TDC has no open communication. All kind of communication uses a central communication block (this one is protokoll specific) and universal used send and receive blocks.
    With the D7-FB-Gen you can not write communication blocks.
