Hello,

So, I start using WinCC Flex 2008 Sp3 with update 1 on my new window 7-64 bit machine. While transferring the project the 1st time on the MP377 with this new machine,it started updating the operating system ( as expected). But in the interim, the update stoped with an error message saying incompatible operating system.

And now I have a MP377, which will not boot up saying that the image is corrupt. I have tried to restore the backup image and go to factory setting, but I keep getting "interface error". I have tried making the transfer using MPI cable as well as ethernet and keep getting same error.

Also, I have a backup image on flash card, but how do I make the panel boot from the flash ?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi,

I suppose you've allready tried this What settings do you have to make on an MP 377 to reset the operator panel to the factory settings?
As long as your HMI is lets say 'dead', please power off it, configure Prosave as stated in that link, press 'Update OS' button and only the power on the HMI. If boot loader of HMI is still alive, you should be successful. Also, please make double and tripple check that you're using correct firmware version. Also, please tell me what do you see when power on the HMI ? Do you see any proof that bootloader is still alive ? It should stated at lest version of bootloader. If not, then I think you have big problems cry

Regards,

Hello dipakkadam_619,

Have you seen this FAQ?

What settings do you have to make on an MP 377 to reset the operator panel to the factory settings?

how do you do an operating system update (OS update) on operator panels?

if those FAQ doesnot help.

Hello Amit,Darius

Thank you for you replies and sorry I did not get a chance to reply sooner. So I had already tried the things that you asked me to do, but unfortunately did not work. Even with the factory reset, it would not communicate with the HMI at all. Seems like a corrupt operating system, so will have to send it in to Siemens to get repaired.

Thanks again Rnf:lblSmileyTooltip_
