Update firmware from V2.2 to V3.0

I found that the V3 firmware has changed the part number.
You can upgrade the CPU from version V2.2 to V3?
I hope that we buy a new CPU after having spent the money to the memory card.

Well at least for 6ES7212-1BD30-0XB0 latest update is 2.2.0
So I think you might be right about that V3 will be available only with new order code.

Yes, but if v3.0 will not be supported on current HW then its not so very good cry

But I think we had enough and good
FW 1.0.2
FW 2.0
FW 2.1.2
FW 2.2
in the same hardware for three years now.

May be it's time for new hardware with improved functionality.

Only thing i wonder is why the MLFB of a HW is mentioned in TIA Portal v11 even before the same product is available in market. astonished

I think that module is already prepared and ready internally, only maybe making some final tests and soon will be in the market. Just guess.

Firmware upgradeable so much publicity, so much money spent on the card, and eventually it was found unnecessary.cry
I am very unhappy with everything. I think she is a bad trade policy.mad

One more piece of information from the New S7-1200 System Manual - Edition 04/2012 - Chapter 4.5.5
"Note
You cannot update an S7-1200 CPU V2.2 or earlier to S7-1200 V3.0 by firmware update."

Hello Guys,
Excerpt from the S7-1200 system manual (04/2012) - Chapter 11.2.11

Update Firmware
The Update Firmware page allows an "admin" user to update the CPU firmware from a file.
"Note
You can only update S7-1200 CPUs of version 3.0 and higher with the Update Firmware
feature."

Hopefully this applies for all S7-1200 CPU with FW 3 and above. So Simatic Memory Card is no more mandate for Firmware Updates of FW 3 and above CPUs. The wait is over now.
