I'm using TIA Portal V11 SP2 on Windows XP Prof. SP3 and for remote assistance i use a UMTS router configured as OpenVPN Server (bridged mode) to connect on a remote lan with several S7-1214c . I have attached an image of the message that appear when i launch the search for accessible nodes command (the protocol shoul be LLDP).
I can program all plc but i can't discover plc by mac address.
Someone have same issue?

Hi,

do you use a VPN client directly on your PC or do you have also a router locally?

I think that the SIMATIC driver can’t handle the direct access the VPN tunnel. It is maybe a problem with protocol binding or different handling instead of normal network card.

If you go online it is simple TCP, but accessible nodes is a mix of ISO and TCP.

Is it possible to test it also with a local router instead of Software?

Gruß / best regards

I use OpenVPN configured as client and in TIA portal i select TAP ethereint interface. My office router  simply configured to allow the ports needed for OpenVPN: My pc get same IP address of the network of remote LAN and i can ping all PLC with configured IP parameters.

I have found this discussion but i can't find any solution: https://www.automation.siemens.com/WW/forum/guests/PostShow.aspx?HTTPS=REDIR&PageIndex=1&PostID=336589&Language=en
