Hello All

Im fairly new with Wincc flexible and pro tool. I have a machine with a pro tool programmed hmi, i do not have the pro tool software. i do however have Wincc flexible 2008. Can i work on the pro tool porject with wincc? or change it to a wincc project easily?

i need to make some changes to the HMI. Any ideas? Thanks

WinCC Flexible will convert your Protool project and you will be able to work on it. Only you need to keep in mind that you need SP2 of Flexible, please do not install SP3 as Protool project converter is removed.
Anyway, to get you more adviced it would be nice to know you application and on what HMI you plan to use Flexible.

In case you have installed SP3 of WInCC FL 2008 attach here the project (if it is too big, contact with Moderator) in order to other members to help you with 'migrate' it to Sp2 of WinCC FL 2008.

What is MLFB number (6AV66...) of DVD WInCC FLex 2008? It might needs Comfort/Standard/Advanced WInCC FL depend of the type of HMI panel.

Also keep in mind that most of the time projects are confident, especially when big companies hire you as a programmer. So uploading project here will not always be the solution.

Hello,
All above discussed points are very important to you. I just wanted to know what type of HMI operator panel you have?
And please note that there are somethings you should reimplement with WinCC flexible after migration.
  • if it's a key panel, if the key and / leds are programmed with protool, these functions are not migrated directly from protool to winCC flexible. So, you have to see how it was made in protool and implement them again in WinCC flexible.
  • If there is a recipies also should be revised.
  • Screen navigation may be affected, specially if the arrangment of the keys for new panel is not apple to apple those of old one.
For all above reasons, I do not like uploading software here and ask somebody to migrate it for you.
The best solution -in my point of view- is to have a protool sw installed on your PC or even a VM, and also WinCC flexible 2008-SP2.
Hope this helps.

Thanks Ayman. It is a panel with buttons. i will look into the possibility of obtaining the protool software. i do have the original file it was created with.
