TIA V11 project size

Hello,

I'm working on a project in TIA Portal V11 SP2 Update 2 but I noticed that the project size is growing and growing after a few weeks of work. The project is at the moment 2.65GB.

It is the PEData.plf file, that is found in the system folder of the project, that is getting big.

Is this normal and is there a way to reorganize a project like in V5.5?

Hi,

I can say that this is not normal ! I have lets say medium size project with S7-314C-2DP and with TP900 with lots of screens, but this file is only 13 MB only ! Again, it may be dependant on your project and what you're trying to do. Try to fully rebuild your project and see what's happening. If this won't help I could only suggest to ask for Siemens support as this is internal things to TIA.

Hello,

try the following possibilities. Open in windows the explorer and navigate to your STEP 7 V11 project. Open by your project the folder and delete the content in the "TMP"-folder.

Have you converted your project from STEP 7 V10.5 to V11? In this case open your project folder and navigate to "System > Backup". The backup needs a lot of size of your memory. I recommend to delete the older backup.

hi,

Two tips:
1 - First of delete anything, make a backup (general measure, independently of system)
2 - Delete also the contends (not the directory) of the IM folder under your project.
