Hi Zarro
You need antenna and the type of antenna really depends on how you judge you application and requirement. Attached is the real good manual which can help you choose antenna depending
upon your requirement, also mentioned is the accessories which will be required if you go
for antenna other then ANT795-4MR/4MS.
You can go with omni directinal antenna (ANT795-4MR/4MS) if requiment does not demands for
keeping access and client inside the panel.
Full manual is http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/22681042

Hi,

As manmeet told it depends on your application but to give you a partial directio I wanted to add the following information.

What I won't advice is to use a amplifier. This first because of the country regulations if you use the standard antennas you are able to obey to the regulations when using the wizard. The second reason would be that it amplifies in 2 directions also the reeived signals are stronger and that can be the cause a higher noise level.

For a standard application using Omni Directional antennas should be fine. This creates a circle formed area of signal around the antenna. This coulld be the ANT793-6MN (5 GHz) with a 1 meter antenna R-SMA/N-Connect.

If it's more a directional field you need I would suggest to use directional antennas. For exampel the ANT795-6DN (2,4 & 5 GHz) with a 1 meter antenna cable R-SMA/N-Connect. This is a kind of a sector antenna with a radiation angle of 60 degrees. It beams over a longer distance then a omni directional Antenna but only in one direction instead of 360 degrees.

The shorter the antenna cable the better the signal is at the connector of the AP/Client.

Best regards,

INS
