Hello,

Of course there is a way - ask for password. Basically why do you need to open it in order to see the code?

Hi

What is the reason that you want to open the block, See the protection is implemented due to some reason.

What version do you use for Step7, It is not recommended to open the FB or FC that has been protected.

Now new improved block protection is available in Step7 V5.5 and on. In which it use encription for protection. Which case you will be unable to open the same.

Have fun....Rnf:lblSmileyTooltip_

Take a look at http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/45632074 in order to know what kind of options exist for protection.
Then I suggest to close the thread.

Looks like my previous post got deleted due to some legal issues or something.
Eventhough I was not mentioning any link or name of software. grin

Anyway, so you will have to bit into the bullet and wait until your programmer is back.

Good Luck!

Yes I noticed that. So did mine. Even though I was very careful not to make any reference to the program that we shall not speak of.
It looks like we can't even acknowledge its existance.
I hope I am not banished to sit in the naughty corner!

Programming today is the race between software engineers building bigger and better idiot proof programs, and the universe producing bigger and better idiots.

So far, the universe is winning...
