Perhaps it might clarify the issue here.

Multiple issues here:

First let's define the version terminology:

R4 = ProcessSuite 3.01 w/APACS Control 3.01 - supported on NT only - no longer available for sale

R5 = ProcessSuite 5.00 w/APACS Control 3.01 w/Service Pack B or later - supported on NT or Windows 2000 - no longer available for sale

APACS Control 7.0 - no ProcessSuite content, only APACS control software - current version, supported on NT, 2000, 2003 Server and XP - fully available for sale

As I see it, unless you have already purchased an R5 upgrade, you are left with three options:

1. Repair or replace the NT machine with another NT machine and keep all the versions the same. Siemens may be able to help you procure an NT machine, start by contacting your salesperson.

2. Repair or replace the NT machine with another NT machine and update only the APACS control software to version 7.0.

3. Migrate your complete system to PCS7 APACS OS to take advantage of the newer HMI and Microsoft technologies (Windows 2000 or XP) while retaining your investment in the APACS hardware.

Lastly, yes the PCI MBUS card can be installed and run on an NT workstation with R4 software.

Good luck,

RJP

I suggest you to contact with Support Request.

Contact your local Siemens salesperson. APACS Control Software, including 4-mation, can still be purchased. There is no demo license available so you will have to purchase an engineering license.

Good luck,
