Hi to all

I have the following doubts.. pls clarify me...

I want to buy the One s7 200 cpu from siemens.. According to my requiremet i have selected the two CPU. From the two CPU, i need only one product..

6es7214-2ad23-0xb0- (CPU 224XP, DCPS,14DI DC/10DO DC / 2AI/1AO)

6es7214-2bd23-0xb0 - (CPU 224XP, ACPS,14DI DC/10DO REL/ 2AI/1AO)

1) which is the best product? I have underlined the differences... What is the difference between these two product in all points of view?
2) for analog input and output, separate EM 235 is best? or Shall i choose the above one CPU ?(My requirement is 2AI / 1AO). Which is the best for analog i/o separate EM235 or CPU 224XP?

Thanks

Regards

Hello,

1)  The first CPU is a DC 24V version, the 2nd on a 110to 240 VAC version.
The 1st needs a separate power supply (24VDC), the 2nd you can connect to the main power directly, it has a 24VDC powersupply for powering sensors.
The first one has transistor outputs, the 2nd Relais outputs.
2) the onboard analog inputs are 0-10V inputs, if your sensors have 0-10V outputs you can use it.
If the sensors have 4-20 mA output you need the EM module or signal converters.

More you can read in the system manual : http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/1109582

Chapter: AppA technical specifications- CPU, you can find the EM information there too.

Marcjan

hi marcjan

thanks for ur reply!! if i connect the cpu directly to AC mains, will  voltage surges affect the CPU?
or separate DC power supply is the best option?

Hello,

If there is a big risk off power surge, it's better to use a separate 24V supply, it's cheaper to replace a powersupply then a complete CPU with build in supply.

Even better in this case is to protect the CPU, with a proper power surge protection like I.E. http://dehn.de/TDatenblatt2PDF/pdbpdf2?familyid=57&identnr=36701&prod=yl&artnr=918402&lang=en&pub=true

Regards,

Marcjan

HI,
i belive 6es7214-2ad23-0xb0- (CPU 224XP, DCPS,14DI DC/10DO DC / 2AI/1AO
is better solution cause u have tranzistor output (much better duration than reley) and u use extern reley to drive motors etc...
and like umencho says it much easier to replace power supply  and standard reley than changing plc,or replacing releys inside plc

[quote user="Marcjan]If the sensors have 4-20 mA output you need the EM module or signal converters.

If you don't need high precision then you can connect 4..20mA signal through 500 ohms resistor. It allways works blink.

I Knowlaugh

But that  to me a bit like hobby-solution,  or for testing.
would not advice it as apermanent solution in industrie.

Just my opinionlaugh
