Hi!

At the beginning the maximun number of slaves in ANY ASI network was 32, but with the new ASI profiles there are A and B slaves, so then you can have 32x2=64.

Saying that you can have 64 slaves is not 100% true, since there are slave modules that use A&B as analog input/outputs or 8DI modules; and then the maximum number is reduced.

It´s more accurate to say that you can have 32A slaves and 32B slaves, and when any module uses the A and B slave number it uses 2 slaves.

Why internet was not available when I began to work with plc's?

Hello,

The links i provided tell a different story about maximum slaves on 1 master (in case of the CP243)
Or do i understand this text wrong?

The CP 243-2 supports all the functions defined in the extended AS-Interface specification

V2.1, which means that dual address assignments (A-B) allow up to 62 digital or 31 analog

slaves to be operated on the AS-Interface.

sad

Of course you are right about the analog slave using 2 (A+B) adress assignments.

Marcjan

Sorry for the mistake! Rnf:lblSmileyTooltip_

I used my fragile memory to say 32 slaves, the max number is 31, and because the address 0 can´t be used it gives 31 slaves.

Although documentation says 31 analog slaves or 64 digital slaves, there are digital slaves that use A+B address too; and it´s more accurate to say from 31 to 64 depending on the slaves in the system as they can be mixed. In the same net you can have digital & analog using A,B or A+B.

Thanks for the correction Rnf:lblSmileyTooltip_
