hello all .
is there any API for the simotion ?
i want to be able to send position command from PC ( like sending MDI command from controller when using basic poitioner ) .

Hello,
no there is no API. You can use OPC XML DA to access the Symbols of simotion.

Hi,
In the D435 we just wrote a VB program on the pc and sent it over an ethernet link into the controller.

so thats means that the only interaction between simotion and pc , its read and write variables .
am i correct ?

With Siemens equipment I would never say 'the only way' because there is normaly a few ways to do things. I personally find I can't be bothered to read and understand all the documentation to use Siemens HMI products so I'd rather write my own.

There is a range of standard commands for the network connection starting with _tcp When you open the comms you simply specifiy a free port and an IP address. The controller doesn't care where the IP is located so it could be direct or over a lan. The data is sent and received as an array which then has to be processed to move the data into variables. Pee
