Dummer question, but very important for me.
Micromaster 420 + Micromaster Profibus + BOP. On Profibus flashing orange lite. No Errors or Alarms on BOP. Connect to laptop (Windows7) with loaded DriveMonitor.
Did read PROFIBUS Optional Board Operating Instruction. Have Baud 9600. Bus address put different 0, 1, 3. Р0700=6, P1000=6. Use regular COM cable.  No Comunication. Try to use USB Com adapter. No Commucation. Whats wrong? Thank you.

I dont think thts problem in drive parameter.

Check some basics like Profibus address in PLC Hardware configuration and Drive must be same. Then check End Termination from both Ends. Check cable for loose connection or wrong connection.

Try to separate Profibus cable from Power cables

Devesh Vithani

Please say Thanks if your Problem is Solved.. :-)

Hi.....Onilll

May be probelem in OS (Win 7)
But you check connection, node address, and Baud rate of profibs(Minimum 187.5 kbps) of drive and PLC also.

im not sure if i follow correctly, just in case i'll throw it out there

if you are connecting directly to the micromaster with your profibus programming adapter then you will find that the lights wont come on the the programming adapter because the micromaster profibus module does not have a 24V pin to power the programming adapter.

To get around this instead plug into the PLC (S7 PLC???) which is connected to the same bus and you should be able to talk to the micromaster that way. Although the same 24V pin rule may apply for the PLC aswell in the case of a non siemens PLC.

And if you are really desperate and without a PLC or node with a 24V pin, One time i didnt have an option and I instead cracked open the micromaster profibus module and soldered a connection from the external 24V supply to the profibus port pin 7. I cant remember if i also put a 0V connection to pin 2 or not but this is the 0V ref fo rthe 24V supply to the programming adapter.
