Cannot open/create WinCC project

Hello Everybody,

I have a problem opening an excisting project or creating a new one. Each time I trie to do this, WinCCExplorer gives the following message:

Cannot open/create WinCC project - Project Manager can't start the basis apllication XREF

I uninstalled and reinstalled WinCC 7.0 but no luck. Has anyone an idea what is going on? The software is running on a Windows 2003 Server.

Hi

- which other software is installed?
- in which sequence did you install your software?
- which user rights do you have?
- are there any entries in the diagnose files (..\wincc\diagnose)?

i had the same problem while trying to open/create a project in wincc 7.0, running in a win server 2003 environment using remote desktop.

the problem stoped when i connected the mouse and keyboard directly to the server grin

Problem Solved!!!

I was trying to open the project on the server by using Remote Desktop. I still open it by Remote Desktop but now I use the /console option to take over the server.

The /console option has been removed in XP SP3. You now have to use /admin to connect from an XP SP3 machine to the console session.

Hi,

I have the same problem.

Just updated WinCC v7.0 to WinCC v 7.0 SP 1 on 3 machines. 2 machines are fine except 1.
Software running on XP Pro Version 2002 SP 2.

Any idea what I can try?
