Hi everybody,

I was looking for an explanation of the structure of MLFB number of SIMATIC S7/S5 products. Anybody who can help me out?

Sometime, I looked for this information too …  The best that I found was a manual “Machine-Readable Product Designation (MLFB) Manual · 2007”. However it explains just to “6ES7”…A propose, if someone has a link of this manual, I will appreciate.

Hello,
I have asked before about the same subject and I did not recieve a complete answer for it.
The only thing I have knew:
For example The part number: 6ES7331-1KF01-0AB1. The character "B" means that that module can be configurable using a software.

For module with MLFB: 6ES7321-1BH02-0AA0. tHE CHARACTER NOW IS "A" so it can not be configurable!

I know that my answer can not be a reply to whole your question and also I am still want to know the complte answer. But what just I would like to, is to share my knowlege with you all.

Hi,
just a little correction, the A/B sing at this position is related with diagnose function of the module.

Hello Pegaia,
I do not think that A/B at this position is related to diagnose as the module in my previous example "6ES7331-1KF01-0AB0" does not support diagnose. And you can do some short excrsise to check using Simatic manager. All modules that have "B" letter instead of "A" in that position have a different settings should be adjusted in HW config of Simatic manager.

Check and tell me.
