Trying to find out some antique lore.

I have a customer with a TI-545-1101 CPU. Every other week it looses it's program over the weekend. The battery is good, it just loses the program. I re-program and it's ok, I swap the CPU and the same thing happens.

I was thinking of trying a EEprom, this might help some.

Does any one know what the generic part number is for the eeprom?

Any other ideas??

Try changing the Power Supply of the base. i have seen more weird phenomena with a PS that is allmost at the end of life but still keeps working more or less.

Don't have the generic part number for the Eprom.

Cheers,

Hello WireGuy;
There is still a lot of litterature on the 505 series of PLCs available in the Siemens Support webpages. Just look for the documents using the Search box at right, using "545-1101" as a search string for example.
One of the search results you would find is this manual:
545 Tech Overview Man Rel. 2.1
This information can be loacted in the manual:

Program Storage
The SIMATIC 545 offers the option of saving your RLL program in a non-volatile form by downloading it to an Electrically Erasable Programmable Read-Only Memory (EEPROM) integrated circuit. A separate programming device is not necessary. Once programmed, an EEPROM can be removed and used in any SIMATIC 545 as required.
You can also use an Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory (EPROM) programmer to copy the EEPROM to an EPROM integrated circuit. This makes program duplication much easier if you have multiple controllers that use the same program.

Accessory Equipment
The following accessory equipment is available as spare parts....User EEPROMs (part #2587681–8022) and EPROM (part # 2587681–8023)

Hope this helps,
