Hi experts and friends
now in my pc having windows 7xp os
iam going to install wincc flexible 2008 but it giving the error which following pop dialog

  "The following program could not be installed.
  microsoft SQL server2005 Express edition set up cannot complete the installation
  -1"
 can any body help me

First of all, there is not operating system Windows 7XP. Other thing, we need more info. Is it fresh install ? Maybe you have other version of SQL installed ? What other software do you have in your PC ? Also you can read this What are the possible causes of an unsuccessful Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express installation or why is creating or opening a WinCC flexible 2008 project aborted?

Oh! sorry for wrong typed "Widows 7Xp" ie windows7.

what you suggest above the link was i followed and also i formatted now windows XP sp2. now also iam facing the same problem also see the attached file

thank you for reply for this topic and keep in touch. finally i got the result.
i was install the first seperatly MSQL 2005.and next i was install the software wincc flex2008. now working fine but inthere iam trying to install winccflex 2008 sp2.its asking  please upgrade U13.what
is that iand where can i down load that  software..?

Perhaps it means Update 13 for WinCC flexible 2008 SP2. blush

Hi algudkar,

I am stuck in the same step you were at and cannot solve it. How did you make it? I am installing MS SQL 2005 first and got the error? After uninstall SQL, try to reinstall it, but always fail.

Any suggestion are really appreciated.
