Which is the best suited siwarex for a dynamic check weigher application for bags? Siwarex FTA or FTC? Can a Siwarex MS do the job?
My product rate is around 1 bag per 4 sec.
thanks

Hello,
Could you please tell us what do you mean by "dynamic check weigher"? Are you working with belt conveyors for instance?
Tell us more about your application to let us select the most suitable modules for you.

The application concerns a belt conveyor transfering bags.
While each bag moves on the conveyor, its weight must be checked (must be inside some maximum and minimum weight limits).
The belt conveyor must always be in motion and must not stop for weighing.

Hello,
Now it is clear for me.
You have to select a belt scale (MSI for instance) and you can use BW100 / BW500 and use its own DO for enrgize reject pusher if applicable. Or you can use Siwarex CS.
Hope this helps.

Thank you for your reply,
I also asked Siemens and they said that Siwarex U, MS and FTA modules can perform the task, depending on the reqiured accuracy. I didn't ask for the rest of Siwarex PLC modules, but probably CS will also do the job.
However, I am not quite sure that BW100/500 are intended to be used for discrete product weighing, as individual bag check weighing, but for bulk material weighing by intergrating weight.

Hi thanozn,

You are right, BW100/BW500 are intended as integrators for belt weighers. About the choice of weighframe, I would contact a company who build complete weighframes for these applications. As far as I know, Siemens only builds weigh frames for a continuous flow of material on the belt, not to weigh separate bags.
The siwarex FTA has different preprogrammed applications. I would base my choice on the PLC platform you are planning to use, and the ease of programming. If you can avoid writing a complete PLC program by using one of the preprogrammed applications in the siwarex module, this saves you a lot of time for programming, testing and troubleshooting!
