Installing APACS OPC Server

I'm trying to install the APACS OPC Server from the Control V7.0 CD onto a Windows XP computer.
The instructions indicate that the MSDE software needs to be installed which is included on the CD but it is not compatible with Windows XP. If this software is not installed the OPC Browser functionality does not work which makes it useless. So what SQL software do I need that is compatible with Windows XP?
