The security of the data stored on the hard disk is one of the foundation stones of system availability.

If a second hard disk is installed, the user benefits in the following ways:

• Simple, fast data back-up of the complete installation and of the user data in combination with the SIMATIC PC/PG Image Creator.
• This means that if the software installation is damaged, or if the hard disk is defective, the system can be used again immediately by booting the back-up disk.
• Rapid restoration of the last hard disk image backed up onto the "working disk" shortens the downtime.

Optionally there are two hard disks with the Rack PC, also in a user-friendly removable rack for fast and easy data backup.
