PCS7 v 7.1 - Alarm Messages - Using "Free1,Free2,Free3,Free4,Free5 Fields

(0)  have a cross platform system with apacs/quadlog and PCS7 - we have graphics that are in a common area with alarms that belong to separate plants we need a user configurable field in the database to assign a plant name so the alarms can be sorted by plant for operations. when tried these "Free#" fields in the user test blocks section of the alarm logging utility get over written by a full compile in  PCS7 and the DBA in APACS. why are they there if you can't use them?
