Dear All,

i am facing one typical problem with Alarm Time while CPU Changeover in PCS7.

i did necessary settings for time synchronization in PCS7 but unfortunately time stamping for alarms is wrong while changing master selection from CPU1(Rack0) to CPU2(Rack1).

when CPU 1 is Master it shows correct time for alarm logging.
when CPU 2 is Master it shows old time of 06/01/84.

and again if i switch over master CPU it rectifies the wrong time and shows correct time.

Any idea to resolve this issue???

Thanks in advance.

Hi Amit_86,

If you go online in HW Config with and right click on the CPUs and select 'Time Of Day'... are they both reading the same times and have the same settings there?
Are the settings of the CP cards identical between the 2 CPUs?

Are they both on the same network, or do you have 2 isolated networks (like an A vs B)?

I suspect that the answere will lie in one of these areas...Rnf:lblSmileyTooltip_ think

Since your system description matches an H system, You can set one of the SP 1613's as the time sync master for the entire system and set the H station into slave mode for time sync. This will force both CPU's to change the time reading to that of the master CP 1613. By doing this, you will be able rectify the problem.

Hello Friends,

Entire Download with Hardware Configuration solved the Problem.

But still it is kept under observation.

Project was in commssioning phase that's why i can re-download but once it is in opereation and such problem occurs it will be difficult.

Any way thanks for all your support.Rnf:lblSmileyTooltip_
