Installing S5 V7.23 om windows xp machine.

Hi all,
I tried to install Step 5  V7.23 on a computer with Windows XP Sp2.
A got the message "Critical error: No Himem.sys or not enough XMS memory"
What do i miss?

hSorry for the troubles, but i solved my problem.
Original i copied the S5.bat from the S5_Home directory to the desktop.
Afterwards i discovered that the install program also made a shortcut to Start program under Simatic - Step 5 - Step 5.
Starting from here is working correctly.
I don't knowe why but it works.

Hi Marum,

I think that the file is not yet installed well for the memory management inder STEP5. Do you have enough memory, then it micht be the autoexec.nt which is missing....
I hope that the answer will help, if you have still questions, don't hesitate to ask me.

I installed Step5 ver. 7.2 and get the same message when I try to startup Step5 from Step5\S5_HOME\S5.
I do have enough memory and I do not have any file called "autoexec.nt"

The same problem with me...
