Hi, I have a questions :
1. What is the difference beetwen IM 513-1 , IM 153-2 , IM 153-3 and IM 153-4 ?
2. Can I use IM 153-1 to change IM 513-2 ? Same configuration or not ?

Thanks before.

Hello angelo;
The table you will find in athe atachement will give you an idea of the differences between the different models of IM 153-x.
it is taken from the following Siemens brochure:
SIMATIC ET 200 - Automation Technology - Siemens

The IM 153-2/-2HF has a larger range of functions and accepts miore modules on its rack than the IM 153-1. it can also be used to build a Y-Link, a DP/PA Link...
if you use your IM 153-2 with the basic functionnalities of the same level; as the IM 153-1, then it can be replaced as you want. Just make sure you are not using these extra functionnalities in your application.
The easiest way to find this out is to select the IM 153-1 from the Profibus-DP catalog in HWConfig and replace the IM-153-2 in the Profibus configurator, then duplicating the modules you had selected for the IM 153-2. If you get an error message on compile, you know you cannot do the change.
Hope this helps,
Daniel Chartier
