HI EXPERTS, I HAVE A QUESTION:
IS IT POSSIBLE TO USE A 6ES5948-3UR53 CPU INSTEAD OF A 6ES5948-3UR13 CPU???
I HAVE A S5 PROGRAM THAT OPERATES INSIDE OF TWO REDUNDANT 6ES5948-3UR13 (MASTER&STANDBY) AND I HAD TRIED TO DOWNLOAD IT INSIDE OF TWO 6ES5948-3UR53.
BOTH CPU's (3UR53) SEPARATELY OPERATES WELL, BUT TOGETHER THEY CAN'T ADEQUATELY OPERATE AND THEY CAN'T OPERATE IN REDUNDANT MODE.
IS IT NECESSARY TO MODIFY THE DX1 BLOCK???? IS IT NECESSARY TO CONFIGURE SOMETHING IN COM 155H???
EXPERTS, I REALLY NEED YOUR HELP. IF YOU COULD REPLAY A TIP, TRICK OR SOMETHING, WHATEVER THAT HELP ME TO RESOLVE MY PROBLEM, I WILL BE GRATEFUL.
THANKS AND REGARDS.

IS IT POSSIBLE TO USE A 6ES5948-3UR53 CPU INSTEAD OF A 6ES5948-3UR13 CPU??? Hello habacuc
it depends is the only answer I can give you. The 3UR53 948 CPU (aka 948RL) is the "Light" version of the 3UR13 948 CPU (aka 948R) and the main differences are: - 128 Kbytes versus 640 Kbytes RAM (R-1, the R-2 version had 1600 Kbytes RAM) - ~15 ms versus ~5ms basic scan cycle time - smaller I/O range and reduced I/O type support
Providing none of the above is an issue in your case (which is something you need to work out) and you have two 948RL CPU's, it should work to use them instead of their "big brother" 948R CPU's.
I hope this helps and below are the links to manuals which have more details on the above: S5-155H Programmable Controller (CPU 948R / CPU 948RL) Volume 1/2 S5-155H Programmable Controller (CPU 948R) Volume 2/2 Programming Guide

Hello habacuc
S5 program size seems fine as it is only 110kbyte (i.e. within the limits of 128 kbyte that you have available in a 948RL). Reading through your first post again, I wonder though if you changed the CPU type in COM 155H from a 948R to a 948RL which I believe is mandatory to do (I am kinda speculating here as I've never used the 948RL). As the 948RL is a later addition to the 155H system, you may need to upgrade your COM 155H to a later version too to be able to configure it, see also the two links below for more on this: Differences between CPU 948RL (Lite) and CPU 948R in AG S5-155H New CPU 948R Lite for the S5-155H Fault-Tolerant PLC System: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/4202974
P.S: Please do not write everything in CAPITAL LETTERS, it makes it hard to read and easy to miss important information.

Hi, Fritz sorry for the capital letters its a bad habit that i have.
My application has 96 analog inputs, 288 digital inputs and 96 digital outputs. It is possible that the CPU "53" controls this i/o, isn't it???
Thanks for all for help. Regards.

Hello habacuc
You'll see in the technical spec section of the previously listed manual that the I/O framework of the 948R and 948RL are identical so this shouldn't be an issue.
The question still is though: Have you tried to change the CPU type via COM 155 H?
Come to think of it, another question is: Why do you actually want to "downgrade" your 948R CPU pair to the 948RL type?
Cheers
