Hello.

I'd like to know if someone can help me in this situation. I Updated the firmware in a CPU 1212C as describe the service and support website. But when the Update process finished i removed the memory card and i did a power-cycle on the cpu. Now the cpu have an error, the cpu is in stop mode, the error and maint leds are flashing at the same time. I couldn't find what this mean when i search in the "S7 1200 system manual" on the "Online and diagnostic" section.

I think i did something wrong in the Update process, but i am not sure because i did the process like in the service and support website is describe.
I have tried to repeat the process but i have the same result.
I 'd like to know what can i do to resolve this problem. I am using the V2.0.1 update to the cpu 1212C.
If somebody can help me thank you so much.

The last time this happened to me, I had the wrong firmware on the memory card.  I put the correct firmware on the memory card, followed the procedure for updating - which takes much longer than you might think, and it was happy times.

D.Herrera,

If possible you could try update CPU's firmware to V2.2.0 .... in this link below you can find a V2.2.0 for download.

I hope this help you.....

I have done the firmware update using the V2.2.0 (this is the last one) and also using the V2.1.2. With those updates the led satus are as follow: STOP led is yellow and MAINT led is flashing when the Update process is finished and i restar the CPU.

I tried to download the first firmware version that the cpu had installed but the led status is as follow:
STOP led is yellow, Error led is flashing and MAINT led is flashing.

I would like to know if yo have a opinion to  resolve this problem.
Thanks for you help.

At this point it would be really good if you describe the steps you take, not by reading the instructions, but just stating as simply as possible the steps you took like:

1. Copy file to memory card root
2. Copy update file to xxxx directory on memory card
3. Insert memory card into PLC.
4. Wait xxx amount of time
5. Turn off PLC
6. Turn on PLC
7. Wait for flashing to change to xx xx xx on the 3 LEDs
8. Turn off PLC
9. Remove memory card
10. Turn on PLC

Step 7 is the longest step and takes around 3-5 minutes.

Ok huggy. But i have a question what differece there is between the step 1 and step 2 because the step 1 would be to save the descompressesed file in to the memory card (in fact are two things, one carpet and one file), after that are the steps 3, 4, 5 ..  as you describe.
I did all this steps exacly like you describe the difference is in the second step, you have 2 steps to save the files but i did only the step 1( I don´t know what is the step 2 that you are describing), save in to memory card root the descompressed file. the next steps i did are exacly the same you suggest but not the step 2.
Maybe i am wrong but thanks for you help.

By uncompressing the archive file (zip) to the memory card and let it create folders is great if that is the way your zip file expander works.  For me, I need to copy the actual firmware to the root of the card, and the command for the plc to go into the folder with the command file telling the plc to update the firmware.  The folder is a hidden folder and the file is a hidden file.  Be very careful making sure the folder is created, which is why I put in step 2 even though you can do both in 1 step, but no guarantees.
