Hi SolutionFinder,

Siplus modules are kind of ruggidized version of normal modules and can be used in more extreme conditions of temperature, vibration, ...
You can a lot of information about Siplus modules in this FAQ

Dear SolutionFinder ,

in automation business you will face different areas and environments for your application. To fit the standard products for these special environments they need to get modified. You can see that as a sort of tuning for your environment. In example, some ares have a higher ambient temperature and you cannot just place a standard PLC to work in there. The modified/tuned products are called "SIPLUS".

Take a look at the SIPLUS website below. You will find not only PLC's there.

Regards.

Hello,
Siemens Provides two types of products. Standard type or let us call normal is always used for normal conditions. SIPLUS is used for extreme conditions.

Individually adapted products, systems and solutions for any aspect in automation and drive engineering, for a reliable operation under difficult to extreme conditions.

Depending on the application, for example, we prepare the devices for:

  • Ambient temperatures from -40/25°C to +60/70°C

  • Condensation, increased humidity, increased degree of protection (dust, water)

  • Extraordinary medial load e.g. pollution gas atmosphere

  • Increased mechanical load

  • Electronic equipment used on rolling stock (European Standard EN 50155, Railway applications)

  • Various voltage ranges that differ from the standard ranges

  • Sector-specific solutions

We provide highest operational safety based upon IA/DT standard devices.
