Programming S7-1200 via profibus

Dear All,

I am building an automation system for a client using S7-1200 with a profibus-dp master module. Most of the PLCs in the plant use profibus network for communication. The maintenace crew use profibus from their office to connect to the factory's PLCs and monitor the PLCs. Is it possible to connect to the S7-1200 via profibus and perform monitoring and programming functions, or is it only limited to ethernet?

Hello, i got confused while reading few lines in begining in your post? Anyway as per my knowledge only profinet interface is available in S71200 PLC. Well, Anybody knows about Profibus module release for S71200?

Other communications services of the CM 1243-5
The CM 1243-5 DP master module supports the following additional communications
services:
● S7 communication
– PUT/GET services
The DP master functions as a client and server for queries from other S7 controllers or
PCs via PROFIBUS.
– PG/OP communication
The PG functions allow the downloading of configuration data and user programs from
a PG and the transfer of diagnostics data to a PG.
Possible communications partners for OP communication are HMI panels, SIMATIC
panel PCs with WinCC flexible or SCADA systems that support S7 communication.
