Profibus DP Question!

Good morning (if you live in europe ^^)

I have the following problem.
I have 3 pumps with simodrive that is connected on Profibus DP.
My software is working properly and the hardware is installed correctly but my pumps will not work.

So I want to check out the profibus DP signal, so I can determine the problem.
Is there an manual for this?

PS I already have a PG with CP5611 and Amperolyzer V3.0

Hello,

Even without Amperolyzer V3.0 you could detect Profibus failure. In the beginning you could check if you send commands to the drives. Also is possible if you receive commands into the drive. About how to use Amprolyzer look at documentation there AmprolyzerV32.zip

Thank you for your reply.

But the help file of amperolyzer isnt that helpfull it tells you only how to use the program.
I want to look @ the bytes of the signal, if you know what I mean.

like the signal 17 C3 00 00 00 00 00 00

what does it mean? etc.

are there any manuals for this?

It would appear that what you are looking for is a combination oscilloscope/protocol analyser.
You could look at Profitrace (and associated products) from Procentec:
http://www.procentec.com/products/#profitrace
It is one of the most powerful Profibus diagnostic tools I have seen in operation.

Hello Hezzens_Z,

detailed information about the data which are transferred should be found in the documention of your Simodrive.

Whats about the dignostic information within the PLC? Are you sure that the connection is established, ...

Hello...

Can you check the profibus cable sheilding and connectors.....have it is  installed properly.

there steps to check the connector and it is already posted in fourm. I am attaching the details of the same

And there is BT200 equipment avialble from Siemens for checking the profibus cable and the connecttor.
