Hi,

I want to back up sinumerik MMC(HMI) V 06.04.30.00, but it has only service menu installed with ghost 7.5. I want to back it up with an usb flash drive, but no matter how i try i can't.

I tried any possible means, but only thing I managed to achieve were errors, and one blue screen of death...

Service center doesnt start too, cant even find an option to log form USB. I only get HD, Revomable devices (doesnt work), CD-ROM, and somthing that looks like some access port (doesnt work either).

So the question is: Can I even do it, or do i have to do it by connecting PG over lan?

Hi,

If you are on windows NT there is no usb support.

If you have XP then you should be OK

NT has got network support so go in over ethernet.

I'm sorry, there have been some false information in my piervous post.

The MMC is V 06, (according to the sticker in the back), but the system has been updated to V 07 (according to the info during loging).

Anyway I'm positive that its running Windows XP.

The problem is that I dont have Service Center, and only DOS based Service Menu. Apparently that feature is not installed.

So is there any chance I will be able to bot from usb, or is that feature probably impossible with old BIOS for windows NT?

If you mean normal Sinumerik - Yes

If you mean Service Menu - Yes again

If you mean Service Center from Pendrive - No, cant find in in boot selection screen.

Hello...

On your PEN drive have you written the EBOOT.GHO file, this has to be written from the Ghost Software.

Check it.

The boot pendrive was created according to instructions from manual.

Additionally, it does work properly on diffrent machines (they have orginal v08)
