Drive Monitor over Profibus

Hi All, I am able to use my drive monitor over Profibus for monitoring and downloading Master Drive parameters, it  is routed through my S7 400 CPU TCP/IP ---> Profibus. I have also been able to connect serially set parameters 443 and 554 to accept commands and operation to the Drive from the PC to operate the drive. I am not sure however when we are on Profibus most probably Scom is not probably valid. What is needed to operate the drive from the PC on Profibus. The ON OFF button and the window for the set point are greyed out.

Ensure you have your anable bits high or just tick the 'enable bits 1-6' box and the bottons should become highlighted.

Not sure which enables you are talking about, I have already o009 on the PMU.

You have to install Drive ES to connect PC to Master drive through Profibus.
Did you change the Profibus address of the drive suitable to the address you configured in PLC?

I am already connected and was monitoring some " r" values as well as seeing all the parameters in the EE2 prom so connectivity is not an issue. I also have Drive ES 5.5 installed.

Hi,

If you have your master drive connected in a profibus network, I assume that all the commands to the drive become from your PLC over the profibus.
Then, if this is so, although I have never done this, may be you can change the parameters P554, P555, and so on, of the control word, and put there a binector B1. Then, the speed reference parameter should also be manually assigned to a constant value conector.

Please bear in mind that you should pay special attention of the safety of your machine by doing this manual motion.
