I know the right way to configure 87 Hz mode is to put in the 230V data in Starter and then click the option '87Hz'.
Starter then recalculates to 400V at 87 Hz.
But at a customer I saw they only put in the 230V data while the drive is connected to 400V.
Will this work ok, especially above 50Hz?
Hi, this is not a problem, the drive recalculates the 400V operating point automatically when the 87Hz option is utilised, so the fact that the drive is connected to 400VAC (input) is essential, otherwise, how will the 400V (output) operating point be achieved?.

If you follow the separate link on the there, there is a very detailed document of using MM4's in Field Weakening and 87Hz modes of operation.
